Have you ever wondered how triathletes achieve those blazing fast
transition times off the bike. They don't tie their shoes, they don't
even pull their laces tight with a cord lock. They simply slip into
their shoes like slippers.
These heavy-duty elastic cord laces were designed by me (ex pro
triathlete) and tested by Sigi Lang, the World Champion at Winter
Triathlon. You simply replace your laces with these elastic cords, use
the dual-cord stopper to adjust the tension, and tie off the ends, so
they don't accidently slip through the cord stopper.
Now that I'm retired and have gone through a total hip replacement, i realized that this same product could be very helpful when you can't bend over to tie your shoes. Using a long shoe horn (part of my 'hip kit'), allows you to simply slip-on any pair of your favorite shoes. Sorry we don't offer brown color, but lots of other crazy colors to help you make a statement and keep the grandkids entertained.
The elastic cords are strong enough to be adjusted to any desired
tension. They are robust enough to withstand at least a season of
constant use (also in training) and abuse in the sun (UV) and moisture
(salty sweat). The cord lock uses a stainless steel spring, so it wont
rust or freeze up. The ends of the cord are also shrink wrapped to
prevent fraying.
Instructions are on the package, but all you really have to do is lace up your shoes as you would with normal laces. Instead of tying a bow, feed the ends through the included dual cord stopper and pull to the desired tension. The loose ends can be tied in a knot or woven under the crossed laces to hold them down.
They come in 7 colors: black, blue, red, yellow, green, pink, and white.
71cm(28") length unstretched. You can cut them to any length needed without them fraying.
